About Us

Blue Fin Sailing was established in January 2006, and aims to provide first-class tuition both on and off the water.

The school's Principal is Sally Thompson, a qualified RYA Yachtmaster Instructor, who started sailing as a teenager and now has well over 15 years' experience. In a former life she was a secondary-school teacher, so you can be sure to receive the highest quality instruction be it in the classroom or on the water.

In addition to preparing theory courses and offering own-boat tuition Sally instructs practical courses for some of the many sailing schools in this area and in the Clyde.

Demand for her no-nonsense, common sense approach to teaching sailing has even taken her as far afield as the Red Sea.
