Sailing
Follow up your theory with a 5-day practical course. Alba Sailing offer a variety of RYA practical courses, including Ladies only.
The RYA is the UK's national association for many water sports, including their training schemes.
Sailtrain is a mine of information, both theory and practical. Check out some of their tips and see if they work for you.
Weather
The source of all the forecasts is the Met Office, where you can see all sorts of forecasts and weather warnings. Test your interpretation of the pressure charts against the Met Office view - good practice for Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory!
At the BBC Weather Centre you can view the Shipping and Inshore Waters forecasts. The synoptic chart may have all but disappeared from TV forecasts, but they are still alive and well here!
Weather Online has a host of useful information relating to all sorts of pastimes. Give yourself plenty of time to explore this site.
Theyr provide really useful information to sailors and pilots, but have recently become a subscription service. Why not sign up for their 14-day trial?
Frank Singleton has a very comprehensive site about how to get and how to use weather information. It will suit beginners and experts alike.
Tides
The Admiralty's EasyTide will give you a 7-day prediction for worldwide ports.
Charts
You can now retreive corrections for your Admiralty charts online.
